Hezbollah keeps clashing with Israeli forces, striking more tanks

Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement is currently engaged in heavy fighting with Israeli forces along the Lebanese border with the occupied territories. This comes amid ongoing violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty by Tel Aviv.

The clashes were reported on Tuesday, with sustained gunfire heard in footage from the area. Hezbollah announced that it targeted another advanced Israeli Merkava tank in the Tayyibah area of the Baalbek region using a “guided missile.” This marks the fifth tank targeted by Hezbollah fighters in the past three days.

The movement recently decided to confront the Israeli forces more actively, officially ending its period of self-restraint in response to the Israeli regime’s repeated violations of a November 2024 ceasefire deal. That agreement was meant to stop Tel Aviv’s deadly escalation against Lebanon, which had already claimed thousands of lives, including that of Hezbollah’s former secretary general Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

In his latest remarks, Nasrallah’s successor, Sheikh Naim Qassem, issued a strong warning to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who had previously threatened to assassinate him. Sheikh Qassem said during an International Quds Day address, “Your threat to assassinate me has no taste and no value. You are the one who should fear for yourself.”

He also reiterated that Hezbollah’s stance remains firm: resistance is the only response to Tel Aviv’s ongoing aggressive actions toward Lebanon.
