Losing officials won’t weaken Iran’s strong political system: FM
Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, has said that the Islamic Republic is built on a strong political system and will not be affected by the loss of any individual official.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, Araghchi emphasized that Iran has stable political, economic, and social institutions. He said, “The presence or absence of an individual won’t affect this structure,” and questioned why American and Israeli leaders have not understood this fact.
He added that while individuals have their own impact, the political system itself is highly robust.
His remarks came after the assassination of Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), during Israeli strikes in Tehran.
Meanwhile, Judiciary Chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Eje’i said that Iran has maintained stability and governance despite the war conditions. Speaking to members of the Supreme Council of Judiciary, he stressed that the US-Israeli aggression has not disrupted the administration of the Islamic Republic, even after the killing of several senior officials.
Eje’i also criticized the United States, saying the image of American power has been shattered since the war against Iran began. He noted that the US president is seeking support from allies, including NATO, to send forces to the Strait of Hormuz, which is currently blocked due to the strong presence of Iran’s Armed Forces.
Iran’s leadership continues to stress that its political and military systems remain resilient, handling national affairs uninterruptedly despite external attacks.
