Iran rejects US “48-hour oil seizure” claim
In a severely worded response to remarks made by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf stated that the US might have quickly grabbed Iran’s oil wealth if Tehran had not invested in military capabilities.
The US “could’ve gone in, seized all their oil fields in 48 hours… armed the Israelis with the best weapons, and created many, many new Gazas,” Qalibaf said in a post on X, rejecting Rubio’s argument that Iran should put domestic spending ahead of defense.
Imagine if Iran spent billions of dollars on its citizens rather than on weapons. Their nation would be very different, Rubio wrote.
The situation was regarded by Qalibaf as an unrealized “American Dream.”
“It would have been so lovely… Then, believe me, we could have invaded, taken control of all their oil fields in 48 hours, given the Israelis the strongest weapons, and established many new Gazas. Folks, this is the true “American Dream,” he remarked. “Never,” he wrote in capital letters.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei was killed in a carpet-bombing attack on a home in central Tehran on February 28, which marked the start of the terrorist war against Iran.
Both sides were caught off guard by the Islamic Republic’s robust response, which included precise strikes on US bases and strategic Israeli targets around the region.
Rubio stated on Tuesday that the US will need to reevaluate its ties with NATO following its unjustified war and that Washington could see the “finish line” in the Iran conflict, which is currently in its fifth week.
