04 April, 2026 16:06

KARACHI: The price of LPG per kg has reached a record level of Rs500, with consumers reporting that they are paying about Rs200 more than the official rate.

Abdul Hadi Khan, Chairman of LPG Distributors, said that low supply is one reason for the high prices. He also mentioned that regulators and importers have not been able to stop the sale of LPG at such high rates.

Recently, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) officially increased LPG prices. According to the notification, the price per kg has gone up by Rs78.28, making the new official rate Rs304.12 per kg.

This increase has also raised the cost of domestic cylinders. An 11.8 kg cylinder now costs Rs3,588.59, which is Rs923.71 higher than before.

The new LPG prices have been effective since April 1.
