ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Thursday strongly condemned Israeli attacks in Lebanon, saying such strikes have harmed the peace process in the Middle East.

Pakistan highlighted the heavy civilian casualties and major damage to infrastructure. It also reaffirmed its full support and solidarity with the Lebanese government and its people.

Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said Pakistan “stands firmly with Lebanon in this difficult time” and showed deep concern over the humanitarian impact of the attacks. He added that Israel’s actions violate international law and weaken efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region. Pakistan also repeated its support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and long-term stability.

Meanwhile, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia expressed serious concern over reported violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon. Both countries stressed that full compliance with the ceasefire is necessary for lasting peace.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone call with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan. During the conversation, both leaders condemned the ceasefire violations and called for an immediate stop.

They emphasized that strict implementation of the ceasefire agreement is essential to ensure long-term peace and stability in Lebanon. Ishaq Dar also appreciated Saudi Arabia’s continued support for Pakistan’s efforts to promote sustainable peace in the region.
