Iran Defense Official Warns US and Israel: “Enemy’s Cost Will Exceed Tolerance Threshold”
A senior Iranian defense official has issued a stern warning that any hostile action by the US and Israeli forces against the Islamic Republic will result in consequences that exceed their “threshold of tolerance.”
“The Islamic Republic of Iran is a sacred sanctuary, and its security is a non-negotiable principle,” said Ali Akbar Ahmadian, representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution to the Supreme National Defense Council, in a statement released on Monday.
He further cautioned that what he described as “American maritime pirates” are attempting to destabilize global shipping and energy routes. “American maritime pirates, who have taken the security of global shipping and energy hostage, should know that complex, combined asymmetric operations deep in the battlefield will alter the equations in such a way that the cost of their decision will far exceed their threshold of tolerance,” Admiral Ahmadian stated.
He emphasized that this is “not a warning, but part of a reality that will become tangible, God willing.”
The remarks come amid heightened tensions in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, where the US military presence has raised concerns in Tehran over regional stability and maritime security. Iran has repeatedly asserted its sovereign rights over these strategic waters and maintains that foreign interference is unacceptable.
Iranian naval and IRGC forces have conducted regular missile and drone exercises, demonstrating their asymmetric defense capabilities and readiness to respond to any perceived threats. Officials have also confirmed that Iranian forces have warned approaching US warships to stay away from the sensitive maritime zone.
According to Iranian statements, no commercial shipping activity has been reported recently, as Tehran continues to enforce strict security protocols in the region. Admiral Ahmadian has previously referred to West Asia as “our playground,” highlighting Iran’s long-standing military preparedness.
The defense official’s remarks follow US political statements calling for increased pressure on Iran regarding control of the Strait of Hormuz. In response, Iran has reiterated that any unauthorized military or commercial passage through the Strait will face immediate and decisive action.
Iran has also reaffirmed its long-term policy of rejecting foreign intervention and promoting regional security arrangements based on cooperation among regional states without external military involvement.
Earlier, the Iranian Navy reportedly fired missiles and deployed drones near US warships that approached the Strait of Hormuz, describing the move as a defensive warning after repeated instructions were ignored.
