Attaullah Tarar Says Political Divide Disappeared as Pakistan United During Marka-e-Haq
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said on Friday that Pakistan demonstrated extraordinary national unity during Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos and “Marka-e-Haq,” leading to success on military, diplomatic, and narrative fronts.
Speaking at a ceremony organized by the Press Association of Supreme Court to mark one year since the victory in Marka-e-Haq, Tarar stated that the operation became a symbol of resilience, unity, and collective national spirit.
The minister thanked senior journalists and members of the Supreme Court Reporters Association for organizing the event and noted that his relationship with journalists extended beyond politics and government positions.
Tarar emphasized that during the conflict, the entire nation stood shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces. He recalled his remarks in parliament where he stated there was no distinction between government and opposition when it came to defending Pakistan.
“Success only comes when a nation is united,” he said.
The minister referred to memorable scenes from the conflict, including images of civilians standing alongside soldiers at the border, saying these moments reflected historic national solidarity.
According to Tarar, Pakistan achieved distinction on diplomatic, military, and media fronts due to national cohesion and the professional conduct of the armed forces and media organizations.
He stated that the Pakistan Air Force gained global recognition after downing Rafale fighter jets, which he claimed shattered India’s narrative and confidence.
Tarar further said the enemy, after issuing threats for several days, sought a ceasefire within hours of Pakistan’s military response. He credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their leadership and strategic planning during the operation.
The minister praised Pakistani media for its responsible coverage during the conflict, saying coordination between the government, ISPR, and media outlets helped strengthen Pakistan’s narrative internationally.
He criticized Indian media coverage, calling it exaggerated and misleading, while describing Pakistani journalism as mature and responsible.
Tarar also highlighted the role of social media users and young Pakistanis, saying digital campaigns, memes, and online content became part of Pakistan’s broader narrative response during the conflict.
“This is a case study of how an entire nation participated in a conflict,” he remarked.
He added that Pakistan emerged from Marka-e-Haq with greater international respect and stronger national pride, particularly among overseas Pakistanis who openly celebrated their identity after the operation.
The minister reiterated that Pakistan supports peace but warned that any aggression against the country would receive a strong response.
Later, Tarar joined members of the Press Association of Supreme Court in cutting a cake to celebrate one year of victory in Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos.
