China Seeks to Buy Oil from Iran

Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister has been communicating with his counterparts in multiple countries to convey Iran’s key stance on the peace talks with the US, said Hamid Reza Gholamzadeh, director of “Diplohouse”, a Tehran-based think tank.

Araghchi was in Beijing a week before US President Donald Trump’s scheduled trip to the Chinese capital. “Araghchi, of course, wants to have the cooperation of the Chinese,”

Gholamzadeh said, “There is complete blockade on import by the Americans and the sea routes”. He also added, Iran is coordinating with the Chinese on selling oil, including the barrels already in international waters, but US is still issuing threats.

The Iranian minister Araghchi also discussed the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, and the methods that Tehran earlier said should be put in place to control the traffic and ensure security, Gholamzadeh added.

China is clear to keep negotiating and have relations with Iran whether business or politics said the Chinese news agency.
