Sydney Sweeney Reacts to Talk of ‘Euphoria’ Cast Fallout
The long-running rumors about why Euphoria Season 3 took four years to arrive Sydney Sweeney has finally spoke about this fallout.
On June 9, a new interview published by Vanity Fair, the 28-year-old actress rejected all entitlements that strains among cast members or busy schedules caused the delay.
Sweeney said it has been frustrating to see social media and some media outlets spread false stories about the show.
According to her, the real reasons behind the delay were the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, as well as the time needed to develop the scripts.
The Anyone But You star also clarified that her own projects had no impact on the production schedule.
“I was in first position to HBO, which means that when filming starts, I’m legally required to be there and can’t take on other work,” she explained.
Sweeney added that the same arrangement applied to the rest of the cast, so no one’s schedule was responsible for holding up the show.
Reflecting on her role as Cassie Howard, she said she always approached each season as if it could be the last.
She said, “Every season, Sam has filmed it like it’s the final one, and we’ve all had the same mindset.”
Sweeney also mention about emotional goodbye to Cassie at the end of each season, it makes her sad always, describing the character as one of the most challenging and rewarding roles of her career.
Euphoria, featured Sydney Sweeney, Zendaya, Alexa Demie, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi and others, first premiered in 2019. The series officially came to an end with its third and final season on May 31, 2026.
