10-Year-Old Girl Succumbs After DHA Karachi Procession Accident

A 10-year-old girl has succumbed from her injuries after a speeding vehicle struck a Muharram procession near the Imambargah in DHA Phase 6, Karachi, on Sunday night.

The girl was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Karachi when she succumbed to her injuries on Monday. Twelve other people, including several women, were also wounded in the same incident.

Police said another occupant of the vehicle was arrested on Monday. Investigators stated that three men were traveling in the car at the time — two of them residents of the Kati Pahari area of Karachi, and the third from Banaras in Orangi Town.

Authorities identified the driver as Zahid, who police said was intoxicated at the time of the crash. All three men had reportedly gone to Seaview for recreation before the accident occurred.
