Iran Will Never Negotiate Over Defense Capabilities Says President Pezeshkian

24 June, 2026 07:51

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has ruled out any negotiations over Iran’s military capabilities, stressing that the country’s defense strength remains essential for protecting its sovereignty and national security. Speaking at a joint press conference in Islamabad alongside Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pezeshkian said Iran’s defense and deterrence capabilities are not open for discussion under any circumstances.

The Iranian president emphasized that Tehran would never engage in talks regarding its missile program, describing it as a critical component of the country’s security strategy. He argued that Iran’s investment in defense capabilities has served as a deterrent against external threats and has helped safeguard the nation from military aggression.

Pezeshkian also drew a comparison between Iran and Gaza, asserting that without its missile arsenal, Iran could have faced similar treatment from Israel and the United States. He said the country’s military preparedness has played a key role in preventing such outcomes, reaffirming Tehran’s position that its defense capabilities are non-negotiable.
