Anushka Sen’s Korean Film Role Marks Historic First for India

Young Indian actress Anushka Sen spread her fame internationally, shines as played a lead role in a South Korean film.

Jeju Olle, it’s her upcoming romantic musical drama, in which she played as Alisha, a singer to travel to Jeju Island along with deal with the loss of her sister. Throughout her journey, a special bond developed with her and Sunwoo, Korean actor Kang Hyung-seok, her co-actor playing as a singer-songwriter.

According to Anushka, the fact that her character also carries the surname ‘Sen’ added a personal touch to the film. The film’s director is Jin Kwang-Kyo, produced by Lucifer Productions and Celebridge, other stars Ha Ju-Young also featured in the film.

The movie marks several firsts for Anushka. With this film, Anushka made her first commercial debute and her first predominantly English-language acting venture. The film mainly filmed at Jeju Island along with language mixture including English, Korean, and Hindi. The movie maker is set for a planned release in India, South Korea, and other regions across Asia and the Middle East.

After completing the shoot, Anushka told Hollywood Reporter India during interview, in which revlead about her three-year connection with South Korea, and tells about the thing she learned while working in South Korea.

She recalled her journey which started three years ago, when Anushka took on the role of Honorary Ambassador for Korea Tourism. As per actress giving details she always wanted to build a stronger cultural connection between India and South Korea.

When ask about the Jeju Olle, as per her description the film felt-like a dream come true for her. She become a fan of K-drama at the time COVID-19 pandemic,and often imagined herself starring in a similar romantic story one day.

Not only this, the actress also highlight about the challenges she faces on the set where majority most of the crew spoke Korean.

Although communication was sometimes challenging, she said everyone shared the same passion for storytelling, which helped them connect and work together smoothly.

More she stated that the film made her to enlighted many talents, as she sings, dances, and acts in the movie. She described the experience as a valuable opportunity to grow as an artist and explore different aspects of her craft.
