In a significant development that has drawn international attention, British Special Envoy Richard Lund has confirmed that the Afghan Taliban regime is actively backing the terrorist group Fitna Al-Khawarij, which has been carrying out attacks against Pakistan.

Richard Lund stated that “Fitna Al-Khawarij is a terrorist group that is receiving support from Afghanistan.” He further revealed that “training camps for Fitna Al-Khawarij exist inside Afghanistan,” pointing directly to the complicity of the Taliban regime in harboring and facilitating extremist elements.

The British envoy emphasized that “action needs to be taken in Kabul and Kandahar against Fitna Al-Khawarij,” stressing the urgency of international pressure on the Taliban administration. He also called for accountability, saying that “the Taliban should be asked questions about their support for Fitna Al-Khawarij.”

Lund further disclosed that “weapons and financial assistance are being provided to Fitna Al-Khawarij,” making clear that this is not a passive relationship but an active sponsorship by the Afghan Taliban regime.

Security analysts and regional experts have echoed these concerns, warning that “Afghanistan has become a safe haven for terrorists” and that “the presence of terrorists in Afghanistan is a threat to the security of the entire region.”

The international community’s growing recognition of the Afghan Taliban regime’s patronage of Fitna Al-Khawarij marks a critical turning point. Pakistan has long maintained that cross-border terrorism is being orchestrated from Afghan soil, and the statements by the British Special Envoy provide significant global validation to these long-standing concerns.
