Mother Dies Saving Daughter as Venezuela Earthquakes Leave Hundreds Dead

A Venezuelan mother reportedly sacrificed her life to save her young daughter during the powerful earthquakes that struck the country, according to local media and footballer Héctor Bello. In an emotional Instagram post, Bello paid tribute to his wife, identified by Venezuelan news outlets as Andrea, saying she protected their toddler during the disaster.

Bello wrote that he would one day tell their daughter how her mother gave her life to save her. “I’ll tell her the story of how you saved her… how you gave your own life for our daughter,” he wrote, describing Andrea as a brave woman who never abandoned their child, even in her final moments.

Meanwhile, rescue teams continue searching through collapsed buildings for survivors after the twin earthquakes near the capital, Caracas. According to the latest reports, at least 920 people have been killed and more than 3,000 injured, with emergency responders racing against time to locate those still trapped beneath the rubble.
