Israel Carries Out Strikes in Southern Lebanon Following Reported US-Brokered Agreement

Israeli forces have conducted new military actions in southern Lebanon, targeting several towns shortly after reports of a U.S.-brokered agreement between Beirut and Tel Aviv. Local sources said Israeli units advanced toward the outskirts of Kfar Shuba under heavy machine-gun fire, marking an escalation in border tensions.
In a separate incident, Israeli forces reportedly detonated a stun grenade near Kfar Tebnit, causing panic among residents. Overnight, airstrikes also hit a site in the border town of Markaba, according to Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency (NNA), further intensifying fears of renewed conflict in the south.
The developments come amid reports of a 14-point agreement announced by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio aimed at easing tensions between Lebanon and Israel. However, the latest incidents underscore the fragility of the situation on the ground, with continued military activity casting doubt on the durability of any ceasefire or diplomatic arrangement.
