IRGC Commander Says Iranian Forces Foiled Terrorist Plots During Conflict

Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Ground Force Brigadier General Mohammad Karami said Iranian security forces dealt “crushing blows” to terrorist separatist groups during the recent conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel. Speaking on Thursday, he claimed the United States and Israel armed militant groups in southeastern and northwestern Iran and instructed them to carry out acts of terrorism and sabotage during what he described as a 40-day military campaign.

Karami said the IRGC and the Iranian Army jointly launched preemptive operations against the armed groups, preventing them from carrying out planned attacks. He stated that the coordinated efforts of the two forces neutralized the threat and strengthened the country’s security during the conflict.

The senior commander also praised Iran’s military development, saying the country’s defense strategy had been shaped under the guidance of Martyred Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. According to Karami, Iran has prioritized scientific advancement and the adoption of advanced military technologies, reflecting the belief that future conflicts will increasingly be determined by technological capabilities.
