Iran Condemns Alleged US Strike Near Children’s Cancer Hospital

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said a children’s cancer hospital in Ahvaz was evacuated after an alleged US strike near the facility, claiming the incident spread fear and panic among young patients receiving treatment. He said 211 children undergoing chemotherapy were transferred as an emergency precaution following the attack.
Baghaei described the alleged strike as a “barbaric” act and said it resembled Israeli attacks on healthcare facilities. He claimed that targeting areas near medical centers and endangering children fighting life-threatening illnesses amounted to a “cowardly war crime.”
The Iranian spokesperson also criticized countries that portray themselves as defenders of human rights, accusing them of remaining silent over the alleged attack and, in his view, undermining their moral credibility.
