General Dan Caine Advises Trump to Exit Iran War
US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine has reportedly advised President Donald Trump to look for a way to end the war with Iran, according to US media.
The report says General Caine believes expanding the military campaign could have the opposite effect and that the war cannot be won through air power alone. He has reportedly expressed his concerns about escalating the conflict to CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President JD Vance.
President Trump is opposed to sending US ground troops into Iran and believes airstrikes could push Tehran toward a deal. However, General Caine and other officials reportedly believe additional options may be needed.
US media also reported concerns that attacks on bridges and energy facilities could increase opposition among Iranians rather than win public support. Meanwhile, US Central Command supports continued military operations, while Israel is reportedly pushing for further escalation.
