Iran Warns Any Miscalculation Will Face ‘Devastating’ Response

Iran’s top military commander has warned that any threat or miscalculation by the country’s adversaries would face a “forceful, regret-inducing and devastating” response.

Major General Ali Abdollahi, Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, issued the warning in a message marking Iran’s Defense Industry Day on August 22.

He said Iran’s armed forces are prepared to respond to threats across different areas, including land, sea, air, air defense, space and cyberspace.

“I emphasize that the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with comprehensive, intelligent and up-to-date readiness in all areas — ground, naval, air, air defense, space and cyber — will confront any miscalculation and conventional or modern threats by the enemies with revolutionary, forceful, regret-inducing and devastating responses,” he warned.

The statement comes amid continued tensions between Iran, the United States and Israel. Iran has previously responded to attacks by targeting US and Israeli military assets in the region.

General Abdollahi described Iran’s Defense Industry Day as a symbol of the country’s “indigenous and deterrent power” despite what he called unjust sanctions and pressure from hostile powers.

“Defense Industry Day is a manifestation of the grandeur of the indigenous and deterrent power of the powerful Iran in the face of unjust sanctions and the alignment of the child-killing arrogant system,” he said.

He also praised Iran’s defense industry workers for strengthening the country’s military capabilities through scientific knowledge and self-reliance.

According to Abdollahi, Iran’s defense industry has developed beyond the production of military equipment. He called it a “deterrent defense industrial revolution” involving defense technology, production, supply chains and economic planning.

He said these developments are aimed at improving Iran’s ability to respond to the changing nature of modern warfare.

“Undoubtedly, this glorious development is indebted to the creation of the belief in and will for self-reliance by the great architect of the Revolution, Imam Khomeini,” he said.

The commander also pointed to Iran’s experience during previous conflicts, saying these experiences had demonstrated the country’s ability to maintain its defense capabilities and national dignity despite external pressure.
