Economist Steve Hanke Warns US-Iran War Strategy Could Backfire

As the conflict between the United States and Iran intensifies, economist Steve Hanke has criticized Washington’s strategy as irrational and economically self-defeating. He argues that US military actions risk undermining America’s own strategic interests while appearing increasingly influenced by Israeli priorities rather than a broader assessment of US economic and security objectives.

Hanke warns that attacks on critical infrastructure could produce serious consequences beyond the immediate battlefield, particularly if the conflict disrupts energy supplies and international trade.
