Russia, Pakistan Launch International Children’s Art Competition to Promote Cross-Cultural Understanding

ISLAMABAD: The Russian State Children’s Library and the Embassy of Russia in Pakistan have announced the launch of an international cross-cultural children’s art competition titled “What Do You Know About Russia? What Do You Know About Pakistan?”

The competition aims to encourage children to explore the culture, traditions and everyday life of the two countries through art while promoting friendship and mutual understanding between Russian and Pakistani children.

Children aged 6 to 14 years can participate in two age categories: 6–10 years and 11–14 years.

Under the competition, participants from Pakistan are invited to create artwork inspired by Russia, while children from Russia will present their artistic vision of Pakistan.

The organisers said participants can choose a wide range of themes, including nature, cities, literature, traditions, holidays, national costumes and everyday life.

Children are encouraged to create their own unique representation of the country based on what they have learned, seen or experienced about its people and culture.

Electronic entries will be accepted from September 1 to November 30, 2026 through the designated online registration form.

The competition provides an opportunity for children to discover another culture through creativity and share their impressions with peers in another country.

The organisers said the initiative is intended to build bridges of friendship and understanding between the people of Russia and Pakistan from an early age.

The results of the international competition will be announced in February 2027.

The organisers hope the initiative will encourage greater cultural awareness among young participants and strengthen people-to-people ties between Russia and Pakistan through children’s creativity and artistic expression.
