Pakistan Strongly Condemns Drone Attacks on Saudi Oil Pipeline

Pakistan has expressed strong condemnation drone attacks on Saudi Arabia’s East-West oil pipeline in Riyadh and Madinah, which caused damage to the facility and left civilians injured. Pakistan described the drone strikes as a clear violation of international law and Saudi Arabia’s territorial sovereignty.

The statement said, Pakistan endorsed its resilient support for Saudi Arabia’s security, sovereignty and prosperity. It also stated unity with the Saudi leadership, government and people. Pakistan elevated distresses that such attacks on civilian infrastructure could added threaten peace and stability in the region.

Saudi Arabia temporarily stopped the East-West pipeline after it came under a drone attack. Both Riyadh and Baghdad said the drones tangled in the attack created from Iraq. After the attack, Iraq lay off a military commander in the sphere from where the drones were apparently thrown.

According to shipping companies and analysts, the 1,200-kilometre pipeline is imperative for Saudi Arabia as it make available a substitute route for transferring crude oil without dependent fully on shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. The pipeline has recently conceded around 4 million to 5 million barrels of oil per day.
