2026 Emmys: Matthew Rhys, The Pitt and Widow’s Bay Take Top Awards

Primetime Emmy Awards 2026 done with numerous major wins, as Apple TV+’s horror-comedy series “Widow’s Bay” took home total 14 awards for Outstanding Comedy Series.

The show enjoyed a strong run throughout the night, with Matthew Rhys captivating Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. Rhys also secured Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for Netflix’s “The Beast in Me.” The achievement becoming him the first actor to win two lead acting Emmys in one season.

 “Widow’s Bay” also made acting awards for Kate O’Flynn and Stephen Root in the supporting comedy categories. Hiro Murai earned Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series, while Katie Dippold won Outstanding Writing for the series.

Meanwhile, “The Pitt” repeated its success by winning Outstanding Drama Series for the second consecutive year. The show’s star Noah Wyle once again won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series award for the second year in a row.

Outstanding lead actress award win by Rhea Seehorn for drama series for “Pluribus”, even though Allison Janney get an award for Outstanding Supporting Actress a Drama Series for “The Diplomat.” Tom Pelphrey won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for “Task.”

In the comedy categories, Jean Smart continued her winning run by claiming her fifth consecutive Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series award for “Hacks.”

HBO’s “DTF St. Louis” won Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. Sally Field earned Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for “Remarkably Bright Creatures,” while David Harbour and Linda Cardellini also won supporting acting awards for “DTF St. Louis.”

The ceremony also recognized major winners across variety and reality categories. Outstanding Variety Series award win by “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert”, on other hand “The Traitors” took home the award for Outstanding Reality Competition Program.
