Pakistan Defence Day Commemorated at Embassy in Rabat

RABAT: A reception was hosted at the Embassy of Pakistan in Rabat to commemorate Pakistan’s Defence Day, paying tribute to the courage, valour and sacrifices of the men and women of the Pakistan Armed Forces in defence of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Addressing the gathering, Ambassador of Pakistan to Morocco Syed Adil Gilani paid tribute to the country’s martyrs and veterans and highlighted the values of courage, sacrifice and resilience associated with Defence Day.

Referring to Marka-e-Haq, the ambassador underscored what he described as the professionalism, preparedness and resolve of Pakistan’s Armed Forces in safeguarding national security.

Gilani also highlighted Pakistan’s contribution to United Nations peacekeeping operations and acknowledged the dedication and sacrifices of Pakistani peacekeepers in efforts to promote international peace and security.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace, dialogue, regional stability, respect for national sovereignty and international law.

The programme included the screening of two short documentaries highlighting the history, preparedness, professionalism and operational capabilities of the Pakistan Armed Forces.

Photographs of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah were also displayed as part of activities linked to the commemoration of his 150th birth anniversary, which will be observed in December this year.

The reception was attended by Moroccan officials, members of the diplomatic corps, media representatives, members of the Pakistani community and other invited guests.

The event concluded with traditional Pakistani cuisine, giving guests an opportunity to experience the country’s culinary heritage.
