Pakistan’s Textile Sector Set for Expansion as Chinese Company Plans Major Export Hub

Pakistan’s textile sector is set for further expansion as Chinese company Challenge Fashion plans to establish a large-scale modern manufacturing facility aimed at increasing production, employment and exports.
According to the company’s CEO Chen Yan, Challenge Fashion, which has been investing in Pakistan since 2014, plans to establish a major textile export centre equipped with modern production technology.
The company has already invested in Pakistan and is now planning a significant expansion of its manufacturing operations. Government sources have also highlighted the company’s plans for greater production capacity, employment generation and export growth.
Chen Yan said the company plans to establish a large factory for the production of garments and textiles using advanced technology.
Under the proposed expansion, the company expects to create more than 25,000 employment opportunities and target annual textile exports of over $400 million.
The project is part of broader efforts to attract Chinese investment into Pakistan’s export-oriented manufacturing sector and strengthen the country’s textile and apparel industry.
The government has welcomed the expansion, saying increased Chinese investment could support technology transfer, skills development and industrial growth in Pakistan.
Challenge Fashion has been identified as an important Chinese investor in Pakistan’s textile sector, with its planned expansion expected to increase the country’s manufacturing capacity and export potential.
