Trump Says Iran War Will End ‘Very Soon,’ Predicts Sharp Fall in Oil Prices

Trump Claims US Could Soon Achieve Major Victory in Iran
US President Donald Trump has said the war with Iran will end “very soon,” again suggesting that the conflict could conclude shortly after the November midterm elections.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Mobile, Alabama, Trump said the war would end “one way or the other” and predicted a sharp decline in oil prices once the fighting comes to an end.
“That war is going to be over soon. One way or the other,” Trump said. “It’s going to end very soon and probably right after the midterms.”
Trump also pointed to Iran’s economic difficulties, saying the country was experiencing inflation of around 310%. The figure was presented as part of his remarks about Iran’s economy.
He said oil prices would “come tumbling down” once the conflict ends and suggested they could eventually fall below levels recorded during his first term.
Trump has previously made similar predictions about a swift end to the conflict. On September 28, he said the United States would achieve its objectives in the war “very soon” and also predicted that fuel prices would fall after the conflict ends.
His latest comments come as the conflict continues to affect global energy markets. Oil prices had recently risen amid concerns over supply disruptions, while G7 countries agreed to release 100 million barrels of crude oil and diesel from emergency reserves in an effort to stabilize energy markets.
