Iran Anti Narcotics Police chief Brigadier meets Sheikh Rashid in Islamabad today (Monday).
According to a press release, Ambassador to Pakistan Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini also attended the meeting.

Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and Iranian Anti Narcotics Police chief Brigadier General Majid Karimi discussed bilateral relations of the two countries.
Sheikh Rashid further said that Pakistan had a history of close and fraternal relations with Iran.
Moreover, he expressed readiness of Pakistan to further extend the existing ties.
Pakistan ready to expand ties with Iran in all the sectors beneficial for the two countries.
The minister also reiterated Government of Pakistan’s commitment to work closely with Iran in border management and the fight against drug trafficking.
Furthermore, he called for the development of relations between the relevant institutions of two countries, especially the professional activities between the two anti-narcotics forces.
Pakistan ready to cooperate with Iran in guarding the common borders.
Meanwhile, Iranian Anti-Narcotics Police chief congratulated Sheikh Rashid for taking over the responsibility as interior minister.
Iran willing to expand cooperation with Pakistan
He conveyed a warm greeting from the Chief of the Police of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Moreover, Majid Karimi said Iran was willing to expand cooperation with Pakistan.
Specially, Iran eyes cooperation during the situation of pursuit and conflict with smugglers and terrorists.
He stressed the need for further extending the cooperation in border control, security issues at common crossing points.
Besides, he sought cooperation for effective tackling of drug traffickers.
He welcomed Pakistan’s move to fence its common border with Iran.
Karimi considered it effective in the fight against drug trafficking and other crimes. He said Iran desired to enhance the security border security.
Furthermore, Iran eyes economic prosperity in order to improve the livelihoods of residents living on both sides of the border.
He called for the increased interaction between the Iranian Border Police and the Frontier Corps.
Although he sees current level of this cooperation desirable, yet he said Iran seeks to strengthen it even more.
