Afghan Taliban warn TTP against attacks in Pakistan

03 March, 2024 09:06

The Afghan Taliban have warned the outlawed TTP to stop using Afghanistan’s soil for attacks in Pakistan.

According to a report published in a local English language newspaper, a member of the JUI Samiul Haq group, who visited Kabul recently, said that the relations between the two countries have weakened due to the activities of the TTP in Pakistan. In this connection, the Afghan Taliban believed that the situation had improved after a meeting with TTP.

The JUI-S member said that the Haqqani network believes that resuming talks with the TTP will improve the situation.

On the other hand, the sources say that the opinion of the Pakistani authorities is different.

Israr Madani, the head of the International Research Council on Religious Affairs, has said that the Afghan Taliban are concerned about the hasty return of Afghan refugees from Pakistan. According to them, Pakistan should not have taken the decision in haste. Islamabad should have taken the Afghan Taliban on onboard before making a decision on return of refugees, they said.

On the other hands, Pakistan is of the opinion that the main objective of the return policy of illegal immigrants is the war against terrorism.
