Blinken Middle East tour aims against Palestinian resistance groups as U.S. secretary of state speaks against Hamas and its supporter Iran in occupied Jerusalem.

During his visit to occupied Jerusalem, Antony Blinken said that firs purpose of the visit to demonstrate the commitment of the United States to Israel’s security.

He also spoke on intense behind-the-scenes diplomacy led by President Biden.

Furthermore, he disclosed that under the Biden-led behind the scenes diplomacy, they are working very closely with the prime minister.

He also claimed credit for the last week’s ceasefire, saying that behind the scene diplomacy helped produce last week’s ceasefire. He said that now, we believe we must build on it.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu thanked U.S. administration.

He recalled that Secretary Blinken, in a previous capacity in 2014, when we had another round of engagement against Hamas aggression, supported us by having Iron Dome replenishments, a quarter of a billion dollars, that you personally shepherded through the system very quickly.

He said they remember it and grateful to Blinken.

Netanyahu further said that Blinken is giving meaning to this now again with replenishments of Iron Dome interceptor.

He thanked for that too. Although Israel and extremist Jews sparked off tension in occupied Jerusalem and particularly in Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood, Netanyahu claimed it self-defense.

Anti-Hamas and anti-Iran

Moreover, he he and Blinken had discussed ways of how to work together to prevent Hamas rearmament with weapons and means of aggression.

He also spoke against Iran. We discussed many regional issues, but none greater than Iran.

He opposed the United States return to the old JCPOA. Because he believes that that deal paves the way for Iran to have an arsenal of nuclear weapons with international legitimacy.

We also reiterated that whatever happens, Israel will always reserve the right to defend itself against a regime committed to our destruction, committed to getting the weapons of mass destruction for that end.
