Vishal Dadlani Slams Kangana Ranaut Over Remarks on NEET Protesters

Indian singer and composer Vishal Dadlani has criticised actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut over her recent comments about students protesting over the NEET issue.

Ranaut, who is also a Member of Parliament, recently shared a post on Instagram in which she strongly criticised the young protesters and their language. She described videos from the Gen Z protests as “puke-inducing” and called the protesters’ behaviour “crass” and “ugly.”

She also questioned how the young protesters were raised and criticised them for using offensive language during the demonstrations.

Dadlani, who has openly supported the NEET protests, hit back at Ranaut and questioned her criticism of the protesters’ language.

“Bad LANGUAGE?” he wrote, before accusing authorities of using force against protesting students. He claimed that young protesters had been beaten, attacked with stones, shot at and subjected to tear gas and pellet guns.

The singer further alleged that hired individuals were still threatening and assaulting the protesters. He ended his response with a sarcastic remark aimed at Ranaut, saying that she had “earned the gaalis” — a reference to the abusive language she had criticised.

The exchange has sparked discussion online, with both celebrities taking opposing positions over the protests and the way young demonstrators have expressed their anger.

The controversy comes amid widespread student-led protests over the NEET-UG paper leak allegations. According to the information provided, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned on Saturday, July 25, following the protests.
