Atif Aslam Briefly Stops Berlin Show After Two Phones Hit the Stage

Pakistani singer Atif Aslam momentarily stopped his performance during his concert in Berlin, Germany, when two mobile phones were thrown onto the stage during the concert.

A video from the concert showed the singer noticing the first phone as it landed on the stage. Reacting to the incident, Aslam said, “Phone hi phenk diya unhone” (They threw the phone itself). Moments later, another phone landed close to him. He then remarked, “Toot chuka hoga ab tak” (It must have broken by now).

The incident took place during Aslam’s concert at Berlin’s Uber Arena on September 19. The show was part of his Subah Aye Na Europe tour, which includes eight performances in eight different countries. After beginning in Manchester on September 11, the tour kicked off on to cities including Paris, Berlin, Oslo, Rotterdam, Copenhagen, Barcelona and Milan.

The singer has faced similar situations before prompting him to briefly pause his performances. In the United States in 2023 concert, a fan threw cash in the direction of him while he was performing. The singer stopped his singing, asked the fan to join him on stage and stimulated him to donate the money.

He said the fan that throwing money at him was bad-mannered and fortified him to donate it to someone in need.

He had said at the time, “My friend, you can come back and donate this money. Come, please come. I know you are very rich and I appreciate that. Please donate the money. I like the idea, but this is just disrespect to the money. Don’t throw it at me.”

His April 2024 concert in Dhaka also saw a sudden thing linking a fan. A woman stepped onto the stage and hugged the singer while she crying. She was later taken off the stage, though Aslam spoke with her concisely, shook her hand and gave her a hasty hug before continuing his performance.

In the music industry, Atif Aslam has been active for over 20 years, and during period he has earned a strong following across Pakistan and India.

Before beginning his successful solo career, Atif Aslam initial recognized as the lead  vocalist of the Pakistani band Jal. Later he become extensively known for his playback singing in Hindi films during the 2000s and 2010s. Some of his popular songs include “Woh Lamhe,” “Pehli Nazar Mein,” “Tu Jaane Na,” “Tera Hone Laga Hoon,” “Main Rang Sharbaton Ka,” “Jeena Jeena” and “Dil Diyan Gallan.”
