Harry and Meghan Reportedly Raise Security Concerns Over Children’s New School

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly faced a security scare involving their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, just days after moving them to a new school.

According to reports, two European paparazzi photographers were spotted outside the premises of the children’s new school shortly after the Sussexes made the change. The incident reportedly left the family concerned about the children’s privacy and safety.

Harry and Meghan are understood to have issued a strong statement in response to the incident. However, reports suggest that children are protected under UK press rules when it comes to media intrusion at schools.

Under the Editors’ Code overseen by the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO), children should be able to attend school without unnecessary interference. Journalists are also generally not allowed to approach or photograph children at school without permission from school authorities.

A source told Rob Shuter that Harry and Meghan were surprised by the level of protection available to children in Britain.

“They didn’t realise how specifically children are protected here,” the source said.

“They thought California meant protection and Britain meant intrusion,” the source added.

The source further claimed that the couple had not realised how much protection Archie and Lilibet could receive under British press rules compared with what Harry experienced growing up.

A police investigation is reportedly underway, while security around the school has also been increased. The incident is also understood to have reached the Palace.

According to the source, some of these protections were strengthened in the years following the death of Princess Diana and the intense media attention surrounding her.

“Harry left Britain haunted by what happened to his mother. Now his children will benefit from a system transformed because of what happened to her,” the source said.
