Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mohammad-Ali Hosseini and Pakistan’s envoy in Iran Rahim Hayat Qureshi received him at the airport.

During his stay, the Foreign Minister will attend a ministerial meeting of Afghanistan’s close neighbours tomorrow.

There, the FM will present Pakistan’s viewpoint at the meeting on the current Afghan situation.

Moreover, he will also hold talks with the Iranian leadership in Tehran.

Meanwhile, Shah Mahmood also issued a statement.

He underlined equal importance of a peaceful, stable and prosperous Afghanistan for all neighbouring countries.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has returned from Saudi Arabia where he also met Saudi counterpart in Riyadh.

He was part of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s delegation.

During the meeting with his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan al Saud, Qureshi discussed various matters.

Moreover, both sides discussed regional and international issues besides matters of mutual interest.

They agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia at the United Nations and Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Qureshi also emphasized the need for effective steps by international community for durable peace and stability in Afghanistan as well as in the region.

Furthermore, he said the Middle East Green Initiative Summit will help build a regional narrative to tackle the implications of climate change.
