Imran Khan nominated Barrister Gohar Khan for chairman’s PTI intra-party elections

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has named Barrister Gohar Khan for his candidate for the post of chairman in the intra-party elections. PTI will conduct intra-party elections on December 2.

PTI Senior Vice-President Sher Afzal Marwat confirmed that Imran Khan himself has decided that he would not be contesting elections for the office of chairman PTI.This will be first time Imran Khan is not having any position in the party, he founded in 1996.

“It was decided with mutual consent that he would be made PTI chairman again once the court matters are settled”, Marwat added.

Sher Afzal Khan Marwat along with the PTI’s lawyers comprising Senator Ali Zafar, Barrister Gohar khan and Umair Niazi met the PTI chairman at Adiala Jail and afterwards briefed the media that Imran Khan himself decided that he would not be running for the position of party chairmanship.

The PTI spokesperson in response to Sher Afzal Marwat claims, denied that Imran opting out from contesting the chairman PTI position in the intra-party elections.

Imran Khan’s nonparticipation is his disqualification as a parliamentarian for five years in the Toshakhana case since he was found to be involved in “corrupt practices by hiding the benefits he accrued from the national exchequer wilfully and intentionally”.
