Larger SC bench to take up presidential reference on Article 63-A today

Islamabad -A five-member seat of the Supreme court will take up the presidential reference looking for conclusion on Article 63-A of the Structure – which bargains with the preclusion of parliamentarians over absconding – at 1pm on Thursday.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial will head the seat which too incorporates Justice Ijazul Ahsan, Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel, Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail. Notices for the hearing have been issued to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s legal counselor Ali Zafar, PPP’s attorney Farooq H Naek, PML-N’s legal counselor Makhdoom Ali Khan and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl’s attorney Kamran Murtaza, as well as the advocate common for Sindh, Islamabad examiner common of police, insides secretary and president of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), among others.
Prior, on Monday, a two-member seat of the summit court comprising CJP Bandial and Justice Akhtar took up the presidential reference and pronounced that a bigger seat would listen the case.
