MQM-P nominates Ali Khursheedi for Sindh CM slot

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan has nominated Ali Khursheedi as candidate for the chief minister of Sindh.

According to MQM-P sources, party’s former parliamentary leader Ali Khursheedi has been nominated as chief minister of Sindh against PPP candidate Murad Ali Shah.

It should be noted that the Chief Minister of Sindh will be elected in the upcoming session of the Sindh Assembly.

Murad Ali Shah has been nominated by the Pakistan People’s Party for the CM slot. Murad has been nominated for the third time for the office of chief minister.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Peoples Party’s Awais Qadir Shah has been elected as speaker of Sindh Assembly here on Sunday.

According to polling results, Awais Qadir Shah bagged 111 votes while his opponent MQM-P’s Sofia Saeed could on secure 36 bags.

Soon after the vote count, Shah took oath as speaker.

Earlier, the session, which was scheduled to begin at 11am, commenced after a delay. The session’s proceedings began with the recitation from the Holy Quran.

Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani presided over the session.
