A ban has been put in place on meetings with PTI founder Imran Khan at the Adiala Jail.

Sources said that the Punjab Home Department has decided to ban meetings with Imran Khan at the Adiala Jail. The restriction will remain in place for next two weeks.

The jail administration had reserved two days – Tuesday and Thursday – for meetings with the cricketer-turned politician.

On the other hand, the police have also banned media coverage outside the Adiala Jail. They have erected barriers at the parking lot reserved for media vehicles at the Gate No 5 of the jail.

The police have issued instructions to the media that the media is not allowed to cover today. The media teams should move 2 km away from the jail, they added.

Earlier, former president Dr Arif Alvi has said that the establishment and political parties should recognize the public mandate and there is no leader in the world like the PTI founder Imran Khan.

While holding a press conference in Karachi, former president Arif Alvi said that I stood by the principles of accountability, democratic values and the party.

He said that my oath says that if you come to know any secret, do not tell it without the permission of the prime minister. He said that the court did not mention Article 6 in the majority judgments, if you want to file a case against me under Article 6, then go ahead and go to the courts accusing me of unconstitutional measures.
