Pakistan and Kuwait signed multibillion-dollar agreements for deepen bilateral ties

Pakistan and the State of Kuwait have signed seven (7) agreements concluded to attract multi-billion dollars investment from the State of Kuwait in various sectors of Pakistan.

 

Pakistan’s Chief of the Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir and Pakistani delegation were present in the signing of MoUs of cooperation between Pakistan and Kuwait.

 

The investments are planned in Hydel Power, Food Security/ Agriculture,Water Supplies (safe drinking water and supporting mining activities), establishment of Mining Fund to support mineral industry, Technology Zones Development and Mangrove Preservation.Both states in addition signed, 3 MoUs in the fields of culture & art, environment & sustainable development.

 

The Prime Minister of Pakistan termed these agreements with Kuwait another milestone in the achievements which the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) platform is bringing for the country.

 

 

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar visits Kuwait

 

Earlier, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar met His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah, Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait, today.

 

He underscored the resolve to forge deeper economic engagement between Pakistan and Kuwait-including in trade, energy, IT, Labour, Mineral and investments.

 

The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction at the close cooperation between the two countries at multilateral fora. He appreciated the measures undertaken by Kuwait for recruitment of Pakistani manpower in the fields of health, security and infrastructure.

 

Caretaker Prime Minister is on a two day official visit to Kuwait with the primary objective of signing of MoUs in multiple areas geared to transforming the six decades long bilateral relations into mutually beneficial economic ties.

 

Prime Minister Kakar was accompanied by a delegation of key ministers, including Interim Finance Minister Shamshad Akhtar, Energy Minister Muhammad Ali, Commerce Minister Gauhar Ejaz, Climate Change Minister Ahmed Irfan Aslam, and Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
