The Pakistani nation marked Eid-ul-Fitr with prayers and showed unconditional solidarity with the people of war-hit Palestine.

At least 33,360 Palestinians martyred in six months of war, which began on October 7, according to Gaza’s health ministry. Thousands more dead feared unrecovered in the rubble.

In their Eid messages, Pakistan’s top leadership expressed solidarity with the war-torn nation and impressed upon the international community to ensure immediate peace in Gaza.

The day began with Eid prayers. The three-day festival is observed to celebrate the completion of Ramadan by believers across the world.

In a bid to ensure that the religious festival witnesses no untoward situation, security has also been tightened across the country.

In Islamabad, main Eid congregation was held at Faisal Mosque, where government dignitaries, foreign diplomats besides locals offered Eid Prayer.

President Asif Ali Zardari offered his Eid prayer at a mosque in Nawabshah, while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered Eid prayer at Model Town in Lahore.
