nawaz sharif friendship for neighbouring countries
The Election Commission of Pakistan has rejected the Nawaz Sharif’s petition seeking re-polling on NA-15 Mansehra.
Earlier, the Election Commission had reserved its decision yesterday on the request of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif regarding the re-election on NA-15 Mansehra, which was announced on Wednesday.
The ECP rejected the petition of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif in the case and directed him to approach the Election Tribunal.
It has ordered the Returning Officer to compile the final result of the constituency within three days.
It should be noted that Nawaz Sharif was defeated by an independent candidate backed by PTI on NA-15 Mansehra in the general elections.
PTI-backed independent candidate Gustasap Khan got 105,249 votes while Nawaz Sharif bagged 80,382 votes.
Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan assemblies’ session will be held today, during which newly elected members will take oath.
The names of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker candidates for both the assemblies have not been announced yet.
In the first session of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly today, the newly elected members of the assembly will take oath. 21 seats for women and 4 seats for minorities will remain vacant if there is no decision regarding the allocation of specific seats to the Sunni Ittehad Council.
