Maryam Nawaz Orders Crackdown on Wheat Hoarders
Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed strict action against those hoarding wheat in the province. Chairing a special meeting in Lahore, she said that all wheat stocks must be declared within three days. No action will be taken against those who voluntarily disclose their stocks, she assured.
The Chief Minister warned that some elements are trying to create an artificial shortage of wheat. She said those exploiting the flood situation for profit do not deserve any concessions.
Maryam Nawaz instructed officials to use all available resources to identify illegal wheat stocks and to ensure that wheat and flour prices remain stable. She also ordered the Para-force to continue inspections and operations across Punjab.
The Chief Minister further directed that the official price list must be displayed at every shop, warning that action will be taken against any violations.
