3.4 magnitude earthquake tremors felt in Karachi, nearby areas

KARACHI: A 3.4 magnitude earthquake rattled Karachi and nearby spots, says the National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) on Saturday.

The epicenter was 24km northwest of Malir, 10km deep. No deaths or damage so far.

This marks the country’s third quake in a day. Hours earlier, a 5.5 magnitude one from Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush (199km deep) shook Islamabad, Peshawar, KP areas like Swat, Hangu, North Waziristan, Chitral, and even Rawalpindi.

Plus, 4.5 magnitude tremors hit Pasni in Gwadar, 13km deep.
