Islamabad Airport radar services suspended for eight hours
Radar services at Islamabad International Airport will remain suspended for eight hours on Monday due to scheduled maintenance.
According to sources, the airport’s radar system will be offline from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm while maintenance work is carried out.
During this period, radar services for both domestic and international flights arriving at and departing from Islamabad will be handled by Lahore Airport.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) is also preparing to launch a new premium meet-and-assist service at Islamabad International Airport.
The service will be available through an online booking system and must be reserved at least six hours before a passenger’s arrival or departure.
According to Director Commercial Rabia Salma, the service will be open to all passengers, including senior citizens, business travelers, and diplomats.
Passengers who book the service will receive support from home pick-up to airport drop-off, along with fast-track boarding and immigration clearance.
The service will also include access to CIP lounges, premium assistance, buggy transport, and wheelchair support when needed. However, passport and travel document handling will not be part of the service.
