Ishaq Dar to Attend Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem in Jordan

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar will travel to Amman, Jordan, on Tuesday night to participate in the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem, scheduled to be held on August 5, 2026.

According to the Foreign Office, Dar is visiting the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan at the invitation of Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Al Safadi. The meeting will bring together foreign ministers from the Arab League and a group of Islamic countries, including Pakistan, to discuss the rapidly deteriorating situation in occupied Jerusalem and formulate a coordinated response.

During the visit, the participating foreign ministers are also expected to call on King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of Jordan to discuss regional developments, particularly the situation in Jerusalem and the occupied Palestinian territories.

On the sidelines of the ministerial meeting, Ishaq Dar will hold bilateral meetings with several participating foreign ministers. The discussions will focus on the latest developments in Palestine, the broader Middle East, and other issues of mutual interest, as well as ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

The Foreign Office said Dar’s participation reflects Pakistan’s longstanding and principled support for the Palestinian people and its unwavering commitment to a just and lasting solution to the Palestine issue.

Pakistan continues to support the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and contiguous State of Palestine based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital, in line with relevant United Nations resolutions and international law.
