PM asks army to help LEAs to ensure public compliance with SOPs – standard operating procedures – for controlling the third wave of the coronavirus.

He stated this, while addressing the nation via live broadcast today.

Earlier, he had presided a meeting of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) in Islamabad.

Khan further said that the meeting proposed to impose lockdowns in major cities where coronavirus cases are increasing.

But he deferred the move for the time being.

Moreover, the PM appealed the people to strictly follow the Standard Operating Procedures to contain the Covid-19.

He regretted that the people are currently not observing caution.

He urged people to wear masks in public and follow the other SOPs.

Khan warned if the people did not comply with the health guidelines, we will have to impose lockdowns in the cities.

However, he also wants army help police and other law enforcement agencies to ensure SOPs compliance.

Meanwhile, Special Assistant on National Health Services Dr. Faisal Sultan spoke.

He urged the general public to strictly follow SOPs to stay safe from the coronavirus.

He said pressure on the health system is increasing as the third wave is spreading very fast than that of the previous waves.

Furthermore, he said the intensity of the pandemic is increasing in the society therefor; we need to be more cautious.
