President Alvi asks Ulema to work for social reform and promotion of moral values.

He expressed these views, while talking to a delegation of Ulema and Mashaikh in Islamabad on Monday.

President Alvi asks Ulema to work for social reform

Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad led the delegation that called on President Dr. Arif Alvi.

The President urged Ulema and Mashaikh to play their role in preaching the teachings of Islam on important social issues.

Particularly, he mentioned women’s rights in inheritance among such issues.

Furthermore, he underlined Islam as the first religion that gave women the right to inherit.

He said the Ulema should educate the people about the negative impacts of growing population and health issues.

Moreover, he said they should also work for social reform and promotion of moral values.

The President stressed to promote inter-faith and inter-religious harmony utilizing masajid.

He also paid tribute to Ulema for their contribution in creating awareness among the people on adhering Standard Operating Procedures during Corona pandemic.

On the other hand, Sindh Auqaf Department notifies reopening of the shrines in the province.

Earlier, it closed down shrines for devotees owing to an upsurge in coronavirus cases amid the third wave of the pandemic.
