06 March, 2024 15:30

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting has been called for sighting of the moon of Ramazan.

The meeting of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to be chaired by Chairman Abdul Khabir Azad will be held in Peshawar on March 11.

Meetings of zonal committees will also be held at designated places to sight the moon of Ramazan.   It should be noted that weather analysts had predicted the moon of Ramazan will develop on March 10 but it will not be visible at that time. The moon will be clearly visible on March 11. They said that the first Taraweeh will be held on the night of March 11 as the first fast is likely to be on Tuesday, (March 12).

Earlier,  the Haramain Sharif administration has announced the plan for Ramazan.

According to the administration, the Mataf, the open white circumambulation area around the Holy Kaaba in the Grand Mosque in Makkah, will be allocated exclusively for people performing Umrah during Ramazan.

The Mataf is being allocated for Umrah pilgrims for easy performance of rituals.

Apart from this, only pilgrims performing Tawaf during Ramazan can perform Tawaf of the Kaaba from the upper floors.

The Haramin administration said that Imams for Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers have also been appointed for the holy month of Ramazan.
