Bangladesh defeat Pakistan by 104 runs in first test
Bangladesh defeated the Pakistan national cricket team by 104 runs in the first Test match held in Mirpur.
Chasing a target of 268 runs in the fourth innings, the Pakistan team struggled badly and was bowled out for just 163 runs. Their chase started poorly as they lost their first wicket for only 3 runs. The second setback came when Azaan Awais was dismissed after scoring 15 runs.
Later, Shan Masood scored 2 runs, Abdullah Fawad made 66, Salman Agha 26, Saud Shakeel 15, Hasan Khan 12, Hassan Ali 1, and Noman Ali scored 4 runs before Pakistan’s innings came to an end.
Earlier in the match, Bangladesh had declared their second innings at 240 runs for 9 wickets on the fifth day. Their captain Najmul Hossain Shanto played a brilliant innings of 87 runs, while Mominul Haque contributed 56 runs.
From Pakistan’s bowling side, Hasan Ali and Noman Ali took 3 wickets each, Shaheen Afridi took 2 wickets, and Mohammad Abbas claimed 1 wicket. Noman Ali also reached a major milestone by completing 100 wickets in Test cricket.
In the first innings, Bangladesh scored 413 runs. In reply, Pakistan made 386 runs, giving Bangladesh a narrow lead going into the second innings.
Overall, Bangladesh performed better in both batting and bowling, especially in key moments, which helped them secure a strong and well-deserved victory over the Pakistan national cricket team.
