BISP 8171 registration 2025: Step-by-Step guide to apply and check eligibility

The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) is Pakistan’s biggest social welfare scheme, helping millions of low-income families.

Registration for 2025 is now open via the BISP Dynamic Survey, also known as the NSER Survey 2025. You can check your eligibility and payment status using the 8171 web portal or SMS service.

To register, visit your nearest BISP Tehsil Office. Take the original CNIC of the female head of the family, CNICs of all family members, and the Bay-Form for children. At the office, you’ll complete the NSER Survey, which includes questions about income, expenses, and household assets.

This information helps calculate your Poverty Means Test (PMT) Score. After verification, you’ll receive an SMS from 8171 confirming whether you are eligible or not. Remember, online registration isn’t available—only the Tehsil Office registration counts.

If you’ve already registered, you can check your BISP payment status using your CNIC in two ways:

1. Web Portal (8171.bisp.gov.pk): Enter your CNIC number and captcha code, then click “Check Eligibility.”

2. SMS Method: Send your 13-digit CNIC to 8171 and you’ll receive a reply with your eligibility and payment status.

To qualify for the Benazir Kafalat Program 2025, your PMT score must be 32 or below. The applicant should have a valid CNIC, low income (below PKR 30,000 per month), and no government job, foreign travel, large assets, or taxpayer status. Priority is given to widows, orphans, disabled individuals, and disaster-affected families.

Once approved, you’ll receive Rs. 13,500 every three months under the Benazir Kafalat Program. Additional support is also available through Benazir Taleemi Wazaif (education stipends) and Benazir Nashonuma (for mothers and children). Payments can be collected from BISP Payment Centers, HBL Konnect or Bank Alfalah agents, or ATMs using biometric verification.
