Who is Albert Morgan, Suspected Killer of Russian Flight Attendant Anastasia in Dubai?

24 December, 2025 15:26

A tragic incident unfolded in Dubai last week when Anastasia, a 25-year-old flight attendant with Russian Pobeda Airlines, was allegedly stabbed to death in a 5-star hotel by her ex-husband, Russian national Albert Morgan, 41.

Morgan was arrested on suspicion of murder shortly after his plane landed in St. Petersburg, hours after Anastasia was found dead with at least 15 stab wounds to her neck, torso, and limbs.

According to investigators, Morgan, a legal consultant, allegedly “stalked” his ex-wife to the United Arab Emirates, believing she had been working as a high-end escort during their marriage. He reportedly posed as a hotel guest, donned a stolen hotel robe, and convinced a maid to grant him access to Anastasia’s room.

Morgan initially planned to douse Anastasia in green paint and use scissors to cut her hair. However, a fight broke out upon his arrival, which ended in her death.

The couple had been married for two years before separating, and Morgan allegedly accessed Anastasia’s private messages during the period following their split. He reportedly traveled 4,345 km with an accomplice—a bailiff from St. Petersburg—to confront her.

Dubai police identified Morgan as the suspect using security footage and coordinated with Russian authorities for his arrest. Once in custody, Morgan reportedly requested to be sent to fight for Russia in Ukraine—a tactic allegedly used by some Russian criminals to avoid prison time.

Morgan, who previously served seven years in prison on drug charges, had changed his name to match a US banking dynasty. Local media reports note that while he had prior domestic disputes with Anastasia, she withdrew all complaints against him before the incident.

A judge has ordered that Morgan be detained for at least two months as the investigation continues.

This case highlights the dangers of domestic violence and stalking, prompting authorities to stress the importance of reporting and seeking help. For support, victims of domestic abuse are encouraged to contact local helplines such as 1800 RESPECT in Australia or other national support services.
